About
Dr Cheng Ling Jie is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford, supported by the prestigious Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Award from the Ministry of Education. He also holds an academic appointment as a Senior Tutor at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Nursing), at the National University of Singapore.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr Cheng acquired extensive clinical experience at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, specialising in acute care, surgical units, and geriatric services. He also held a key role on the executive committee of the Nursing Research Unit.
Dr Cheng’s research focuses on Health Economics and Outcomes Research, with a commitment to advancing healthcare decision-making. He has led or contributed to research projects securing over SGD 1.6 million in funding and published more than 70 high-impact, peer-reviewed articles. He has also advised over 30 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate students on their theses.
Internationally, Dr Cheng serves as a Senior Editor for Systematic Reviews and as an Associate Editor for Quality of Life Research, the official journal of the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL). He is an active member of the EuroQol Group Association, the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), and the ISOQOL, and is a founding member of the EuroQol PhD Network. He also reviews regularly for leading journals in nursing, health outcomes, and health economics.
